The collection, A Light-hearted Short Comedy with Song and Dance, is a creative meeting between two different artists and good friends, featuring playful explorations of form and color, while also addressing pressing issues in fashion and society. Drawing on both Alamaa’s and Sivard’s backgrounds in fashion and costume design, the collection adopts a conceptual approach to clothing, culminating in an eclectic fashion show that examines the notion of trying. Trying to be ambitious, yet present, to be understandable enough, to cope, to be well-rested yet productive. The individual is constantly insuffcient but must continually improve. It’s akin to modern Rococo, we have the privilege and space to pursue these ideals within the safety of palace walls, while on the other side, people are left begging for bread.
This Rococo-inspired concept unfolds across fashion, performance, text, and sound. In collaboration with the art-pop duo MEGAMEGA’s lead artist, the stage will showcase a fusion of sculptural forms and unisex ready-to-wear pieces. All materials used are either repurposed from past projects, upcycled fabrics, or carefully sourced from high-quality manufacturers in Italy and France.
